Located near Hammersmith, London, the site benefits from excellent transport links and a wide range of nearby amenities. With a south-facing aspect overlooking the iconic Harrods Furniture Depository and views across Frank Banfield Park to the north, the development is ideally situated in a vibrant and diverse part of the city.
Given the multicultural nature of the area, One Vision was tasked with delivering a system that could cater to a wide range of residents. The client specification required connectivity to four satellite services, which led to the installation of a Fibre IRS (Integrated Reception System) using a 17-wire setup. This system provides access to Hotbird, Arabsat, Nilesat, and Astra satellites.
One Vision was commissioned to connect the new building to the existing Fibre IRS system in the adjacent block. Working in collaboration with engineers from Crestmount Electrical, a four-core fibre optic cable was successfully pulled through to the basement of the new block, forming the backbone of the system.
Our fibre IRS specialist, Carl, then spliced each of the four cores into a multi-way fibre splice enclosure. From this central point, each fibre line was routed through vertical risers to individual apartments.
Inside every apartment, a dedicated fibre IRS switchblade was installed for each satellite feed. These units convert the incoming fibre optic signals back into coaxial cabling, enabling residents to access satellite TV via standard in-apartment connections.
